BNA LEGAL PARTICIPATES IN THE SEMINAR “COASTAL PLASTIC WASTE & COMMUNITY HEALTH”
On August 29, 2025, in Hanoi, the seminar “Coastal Plastic Waste & Community Health” took place with the participation of policymakers, healthcare experts, scientists, businesses, and international organizations. The event was organized by the Denmark-Vietnam Alumni Network, in collaboration with the Danida Fellowship Centre and the Embassy of Denmark.
The seminar addressed a globally relevant yet urgently pressing issue in Vietnam: coastal plastic waste and its potential impacts on public health.
- Key concern: Microplastics are infiltrating the food chain and water sources, posing long-term health risks to humans and severely affecting coastal ecosystems.
- Policy gap: Plastic waste management remains inconsistent, especially in coastal areas under pressure from tourism, fishing, and urbanization.
- New approach: The seminar adopted the “One Health” framework, emphasizing the close interconnection between human, animal, and environmental health. This integrated approach is being embraced by many advanced countries to develop sustainable, cross-sectoral policies.
Through multidisciplinary discussions and dialogues, the event created opportunities to:
- Connect regulators, researchers, and businesses.
- Identify challenges and propose new policy solutions.
- Promote international cooperation and mobilize social resources to tackle plastic waste.
Representing BNA Legal, Senior consultant on Finance – Insurance – Contracts Mr. Hoang Minh Thai and Legal Expert Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Yen attended as invited guests.
Their participation reflects BNA Legal’s commitment to engaging with global issues that influence legal, financial, and risk governance policies in Vietnam, and affirms the role of legal enterprises in sustainable development.

- Today’s discussions will help shape practical legal frameworks and cooperation mechanisms for tomorrow.
