BNA LEGAL PARTICIPATES IN P4G CLIMATE TECH BUSINESS SHOWCASE & POLICY DIALOGUE 2025 – WHAT DOES THIS EVENT MEAN FOR VIETNAMESE ENTERPRISES ON THE GREEN TRANSITION JOURNEY?
On September 22, 2025, Managing Partner Nguyen Thuy Dung and Legal Expert Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, representing BNA Legal and VELC, attended the “P4G Climate Tech Business Showcase & Policy Dialogue” event. This international event was organized by P4G in collaboration with domestic and international agencies and organizations, held at La Vela Saigon Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City.
P4G (Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030) is a multilateral cooperation mechanism initiated by Denmark in 2017, formerly known as the Global Green Growth Forum (3GF). P4G’s mission is to benefit people and the planet by mobilizing finance to support early-stage businesses working toward national transitions to net-zero emissions in food, water, and energy systems. Vietnam is one of the seven founding members, and P4G has now expanded to 12 member countries, with participation from over 90 nations, numerous international organizations, and major global corporations.
The event was held in two sessions: - Morning session: Climate Business Showcase - Afternoon session: Policy Dialogue between P4G Partnerships and Vietnam National Platform members and experts
In the morning session, 10 pioneering startups, selected by P4G, were grouped into three key sectors:
- Clean Energy: Alterno, EBOOST, Stride, VOX Cool
- Climate-Smart Agriculture: Avalve, Enfarm, Forte Biotech.
- Food Loss and Waste Reduction: AirX Carbon, BUYO, ReFeed.
They introduced innovative solutions featuring technologies that help mitigate climate change, including:
- Alterno: Sand Battery Energy Storage
- EBOOST: EV Charging Stations
- Stride: Solar Affordable Payment Plan
- AirX Carbon: Net Zero Pallets
- Avalve: AI Smart Farming Solutions
- Enfarm: Soil Sensing Technology
- Forte Biotech: Rapid Aquaculture Diagnostics
- VOX Cool: Cool Batteries
- BUYO: Bioplastics Materials
- ReFeed: Used Cooking Oil Collection System
These technologies are new to both consumers and the market, and the companies behind them are startups. To support their development, P4G organized an afternoon policy dialogue between these 10 startups and representatives from the Ministry of Finance.
The Ministry of Finance opened the dialogue by sharing its efforts to:
- Improve institutional frameworks to promote green transition.
- Unlock green capital flows through a 2% annual interest rate support policy for businesses implementing green, circular economy, and ESG projects.
- Develop green bonds and improve the carbon credit market.
In addition to these efforts, the Ministry encouraged businesses to:
- - Shift their mindset: “Green business is an investment for the future.”
- Proactively connect with other businesses and associations to access government policies and submit recommendations to regulatory agencies.
- Actively participate in policy development and provide feedback on policy implementation to help the government adjust regulations to better suit business needs.
The Ministry affirmed its commitment to listening to businesses and encouraging innovation.
In response, the startups shared the challenges they face in researching, developing, and commercializing climate technologies, including:
- Difficulty accessing domestic and international funding.
- Complex procedures to qualify for government incentives.
- Lack of clear measurement standards for green criteria in the legal system.
- No mechanism in Vietnamese law to recognize international standards already achieved by businesses.
- Need for soft infrastructure to collect data and provide transparent information for product R&D.
- Desire for the government to promote market and consumer education on ecological standards.
Given these challenges, BNA Legal is committed to supporting innovative startups in overcoming legal obstacles. Furthermore, BNA Legal seeks to collaborate with businesses to understand policy and regulatory shortcomings, acting as a bridge to contribute to legal reform and improvement. This joint effort aims to promote sustainable green transition and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
