The forum gathered a wide range of national judicial actors, environmental law experts, and reputable international organizations from Laos, Australia, China, France, Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam, along with representatives from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). It served as a platform for in-depth dialogue to share experiences and promote practical solutions for enforcing environmental law, strengthening environmental justice, and adapting to climate change in Laos and the region.
At the forum, Lawyer Nguyen Thuy Dung presented on the topic: “Vietnamese Law on Waste Management.”
The presentation provided a systematic and practical overview of Vietnam’s legal framework on waste management, particularly plastic waste, with key highlights:
- The legal system governing waste management in Vietnam;
- State management tools in waste control, including measures to prevent illegal cross-border waste trade and transportation currently applied in Vietnam;
