Constructed of silvered tombak with multi coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, surrounding a white enameled disc, overlaid by a silvered German national eagle clutching a cogwheel, in turn bearing an enameled HJ insignia, circumscribed by an inscription of GAUSIEGER 1939, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker
